Stearic acid is a saturated fatty acid with an 18-carbon chain and has the IUPAC name octadecanoic acid. It is a waxy solid and its chemical formula is C17H35CO2H. The salts and esters of stearic acid are called stearates. As its ester, stearic acid is one of the most common saturated fatty acids found in nature following palmitic acid.

1. Plastics industry: widely used in PVC plastic pipe, sheet, profiles, film manufacturing.as a plasticizer, stabilizer and lubricant.
2. Rubber industry: used as vulcanization activator of rubber ploymer and latex, also softener.
3. Cosmetic Industry: widely used in cream and and cold cream for skin care products.
4. Candle grade: Ingredients which can be used in candles. Candle inside to increase stearic acid and can increase the hardness and whiteness, Have no black smoke when it is burning.
5. In the textile industry: used as a lubricant and manufacture of yarn mercerized cream softener.
6. Plastic pencil (refill) and ink with the agent, lubricants and coated paper with a wax precision casting.
7. Also for the manufacture of mold release agents, polishing paste, defoamers, metal flotation agent, paint plain
agent, wax polishing agent, waterproof textile products etc.
8. In other way, used to make release agent, calcium steatate, anti-foam additive, drug-free.
